Story behind the song
I'm exhilarated. I don't know where it comes from but I just wrote, composed, played and recorded my first Gigue. I had to look it up what it was that I had just played. A 'Gigue', a fast dance in 3/4. Yesterday I toyed with some synth setups, a la Walter, now Wendy, 'Switched on Bach' Carlos, and played some chords in F major. This morning it transformed into a Hymn, but this afternoon when I tried to play it from memory it suddenly became a Gigue. The 2 connecting middle pieces just came automatically, I was so happy.
I quickly recorded it in 'Switched on Bach' style and also more classic piano, as not to forget the tune. Because, damn I forget easily what I've just played. And this tune is finished. I'm very, very happy with the result. What you hear is the raw recording. Btw, the bass line is a virtual Moog. It is as fresh to you as it was for me. When I played it it was the first time I heard the tune myself (the essence of music through inspiration).
Enjoy:)
