Beckistan 1994 remastered
The first demo made with the sustainer strat the morning after completing it. I really like this tune and have it on my ipod. This version fixes a little mistake, otherwise it was all improvised on the spot. Solo guitar into audacity at 4am

Story behind the song
A cheap pawn shop strat with the first proper sustainer design to generate sustain and harmonics. The first thing I played with it and was keen to record the guitar to prove that it did in fact work. As you can see it does and sounds very dynamic compared to commercial units and a really unique sound and range of expression. I ran direct into the computers sound card via a amp sim pedal and echo, monitored entirely through headphones. I was and am still very proud of the actual music that came out. The first phrase is the neck pickup, the second the bridge and from then on the sustainer in either mode at various times. The squeaking is from the tremolo system.
