A strange tape of some very early experiments building a guitar 'sustainer'. On this old tape, I used a flanger on the drive signal which pinged off singling harmonics in response to the sounds of the guitar playing, occasionally a bit of 'sustain'

Story behind the song
The guitar was something I made out of chipboard and an old neck. The sustainer used a 15watt hifi amp and would actually heat the strings till you couldn't touch them after about 5 mins...so not a practical application. A decade later I perfected the DIY sustainer with a far more practical application after leaving these early attempts. An interesting sound though, definitely sounds like whales singing along to the guitar there!
