Producer/Composer/Songwriter/Artist Stupid Genius blazes a distinct sound that fuses acoustic & vintage analog instruments, heart-pounding riddims, heavy southern-drenched percussion, and dramatic synthesized melodies. His sound evokes both vintage and futuristic emotions, woven with the heavy impact of contemporary club music. He possesses a solid musical background as a composer/producer, and has worked with several independent and major-label recording artists, producers, and songwriters worldwide, and is currently the in-house producer for Orlando-based indie label, South Coast Records. He began his classical training in piano at the age of seven, which led to the study of violin and trumpet. This training includes three summer sessions at Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, MI. By age 14 he was a self-taught bassist and guitarist. By age 17, he learned to DJ on Technics turntables and remix songs utilizing basic sampling techniques and drum machines. Eventually all skills became integrated and applied to the art of songwriting, beat making, and production through usage of the MPC2000 and eventually Pro Tools and Logic Pro. Additionally, he grew addicted to writing verses and hooks while in class, freestyle rapping with those close to him, and singing along to every reggae chant and riddim he could get his hands on. The overall sound continues to flourish through passion, inspiration, and constant refinement. After developing a large catalog of both instrumental and vocal productions, Stupid Genius has placed numerous songs resulting in more than 150 placements in various TV productions and films on the following networks: MTV, VH1, BET, Bravo, E!, style Network, Oxygen, The History Channel, A&E, TLC, The Golf Channel, G4 Tech TV, and ESPN.com in the U.S., and has also placed music on international networks in Canada, Mexico, France, New Zealand, the UK, Brazil, Czech Republic, Finland, and Romania. Television credits include (but not limited to): Keeping Up With The Kardashians Kourtney And Khloe Take Miami Khloe & Lamar MTV Cribs Dr. 90210 Millionaire Matchmaker The Real World Road Rules Access Hollywood Additionally, his music has been featured on documentaries, web commercials, BMX videos, and on 91.3 WLVR in Bethlehem, PA while co-hosting and DJing a weekly radio show. In February of 2011 Southcoast Records released Stupid Genius' first single and video, "Automatic" which can be viewed on youtube.com and is available for download on iTunes, Amazon, and Southcoastmp3.com. In April of 2011, he released his self-produced independent debut album “Stupid Is As Stupid Does” through Southcoast Records.
