Lyrics
I don’t know where I’m going and I don’t know where I’m bound
But I’m leavin in the morning from the eastern edge of town
I know that I could stay here and be a little less alone
But the music’s still calling to me The only life I’ve ever known
I rolled into town last weekend with a bag of clothes and my trusty old guitar
I was booked to play a spot at the county fair then one night at a bar
I never thought I’d meet someone who ‘d make me think That I could really stay
And wake up every morning in the arms that held me yesterday
I met her at the coffee shop where I spilled my glass of water on the floor
We walked together at the park talked until we could’nt any more
We had a strong attraction a connection that was very hard to break
But I had a restless feeling that connection was one I’d never make
Two nights later I found that I just couldn’t get her eyes out of my mind
She had an easiness about her a calmness that came from deep inside
But I was like wheel that needed to be turned every day
The urge to keep on movin was a whole lot stronger than the urge to stay
I’d heard about those minstrel shows and travelin troubadors
it may not be a normal life but I couldn’t ask for more
