My mother selected "I'll Rise Again" to be on her headstone years before she passed. She had a heart attack in church in 2009 and passed away shortly thereafter. I wrote this song in memory or her.
Lyrics
Rise Again Some Day
(c)2011 Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Mary Alice Vanderwaters
V1
Let tears of joy roll down each face
And lift your arms in heavenly praise
Don't grieve for the believer
Will rise again someday
Chorus:
We'll rise again someday
We're fighting the fight - we're keeping the faith
Along the narrow way
And our Lord will decide - when we've run our race
So for the broken hearted - those who have departed
Will rise again someday
V2
Where peace and love will be abound
Our friends and loved ones will all gather round
Sorrow will have its last tomorrow
And we'll rise again some day
Chorus:
We'll rise again someday
We're fighting the fight - we're keeping the faith
Along the narrow way
And Our Lord will decide - when we've run our race
So for the broken hearted - those who have departed
Will rise again someday
Lift:
Remember the seven - wonders of the world
Cause they're just a taste - of what He will unfurl
When the trumpet sounds - and He gathers His Pearls
And we will rise again
Chorus:
We'll rise again someday
We're fighting the fight - we're keeping the faith
Along the narrow way
And Our Lord will decide - when we've run our race
So for the broken hearted - those who have departed
Will rise again someday
