A melodic metal band which brings the mosh, rock, and an amazing stage show
It was the summer of 2002, and two frustrated musicians, Jeff Burnside and Richie Mittan were itching to start a band. They had been jamming with one another off and on for a year or so, Jeff on drums and Richie on guitar, and had grown tired of running in circles. They wanted to begin moving forward with their musical talents, but were short two key elements of a complete rock unit. They needed a vocalist and a bassist. Both Jeff and Richie had a mutual friend, Jonathan Jagmin, whom they had been acquainted with for a number of years. After discussing it with one another, they decided that he would be the ideal candidate for the vocalist position that had remained vacant until this point. Now that their duo was a three-piece, they simply needed to find a bassist. Through blind luck, Jeff happened to befriend an experienced bassist, Daniel Wright. Jeff simply mentioned to his new friend that his band needed a bassist, and Daniel was quick to acknowledge his own talents. He joined the band soon after, and now the group was complete. Their experience began with a cover of "My Own Summer" by The Deftones. Soon after, the group began writing the four original songs that would comprise their first demo entitled "Oblivion," (Which now on sale. See Contact page), beginning with the song "Behold The Mask". They completed "Die-Polar" relatively quickly, and soon after writing their third song, "Skeletor", the group played their inaugural live show at the Snow King arena for over 100 people, and to very positive reactions. The group played a few smaller shows after that, and in July of 2003, said goodbye to their friend and guitarist Richie Mittan as he left for Sao Paulo, Brazil on his mission for the Mormon Chruch. His departure was painful, and his presence in the band would always be appreciated and remembered. We love you Richie, and hope to see you again soon. Not long after Richie's departure, the group found a replacement in Dan Wilbur of Salt Lake City, Utah. The band quickly got back to work, writing two new songs, "May The Rats Eat Your Eyes" and "Necrosis", in the span of one weekend. However, as problems arose with the distance between the band and their guitarist, the group began to look for another guitarist closer to home. Richie's older brother, Spencer, filled the gap for a short while, and during that time two new songs were written by the band, "I Am Vicious" and "Hellion". But before long, Spencer left to pursue his music in a solo environment. Not long after, a friend of Daniel's, Kyler Brown, was brought on board as Arctic Sun's lead guitarist, with Dan Wilbur now filling the rythm position. The final member to be introduced into the band was Daniel's good friend Lorin "Buttercream" Wilkinson, as the sampler and soon-to-be keyboardist. With the sextet completed, now comprised of Jonathan Jagmin, Kyler Brown, Dan Wilbur, Daniel Wright, Jeff Burnside and the infamous "Buttercream", the group has completed the necessary member-shuffle and is free to begin their conquest of the known world. The destruction has already begun in their part of the world, and before long, their collective freezing wrath will consume the rest of civilized society. Prepare yourselves. Arctic Sun is coming.

Lyrics
The world's asleep. I have no sympathy. Your reasons for living, they crumbled long ago. No contingencies. All hope is lost. My love for life expired the day I was born. There's no one there, nobody loves you anymore. The only faith you have is in its final hours. The few things you had left to love have passed on from this world. You don't deserve happiness, you don't deserve eternal rest. I shudder inside. Strain my mind. Finding a reason. Why should I let you die? Your destiny is written. Your fate pre-ordained, you see. You will suffer into infinity. Raze my mind. Decimate my history. Erase this existence as though it never was. I am brutal, accidental. A mistake elemental. Extinguish a flame gone awry with boundless rage. Rampaging, infecting ultimately defecting. I've run amok spreading hate, spilling pain. A mutation, obsession, living oblivion. I am everything yet nothing. Seal my fate. I stare through your mind. I must die. My sacrifice will not be meaningless. I've become a cancer. Eating away at the face of life. A heretic, abusing this life, take it from me. I've burrowed inside. Guilt sublime. You'll never defeat me, my blood is on your hands. The fallen great defender. The immortal brother of my master. Bow before eternal pain. Kneel, and surrender.
