This was inspired by a study titles "To Walk on Water You Have To Get Out of the Boat", which basically deals with using one's faith in the Lord to overcome what you perceive to be obstacles in your life just as Peter did with Jesus in the storm.

Songwriter, home recordist, and occassional performer. I write songs intended primarily for bikers who have either found Jesus or need to. For those that see
I've been a songwriter from the moment I picked up my first guitar. Over the years I've developed some skills on the keyboard as well which I use extensively in my home recording studio. I see myself more as a songwriter and session recorder than performer, though I do occassionally perform. Although I've written conventional and traditional material for most of my life, I gave up on it several years ago, primarily because there was nothing I found inspiring. Then I let Jesus come into my life and the inspiration began flowing like a river once again. I believe this is because God has a new mission for me, and that is to reach out and minister, through my music, to those in dire need of his saving grace. My audience is more likely to have tatoos and a motorcycle than a nice haircut and a minivan. This is for the folks who felt life rejected them from the beginning, so they have rejected life...but in doing so, they rejected the only thing in life that could save them from their misery. As one of the pastors from North Carolina's Freedom Riders stated to me, you can't ride free if you don't know what real freedom is, and only Jesus can give you that kind of freedom. I don't think you have to own a bike to have a biker mindset and to relate to this music. This music is for anyone who has felt beaten by life. Those who have tried all the worldly avenues to try and fill the hole in their hearts, but have found nothing but more misery and pain. For the hopeless in search of hope. And for those that have found Jesus and desperately hold onto that precious gift because they know, better than anyone else, how miserable life can be without it.

Story behind the song
I had been considering this subject in my personal life for some time. Once I began the study mentioned above it helped me crystalize and focus my thoughts on what I wanted to say in this song.
Lyrics
Conviction Of The Heart © 2011, Dave George There’s a certain type of blindness, when you look but cannot see The person hiding deep inside that you were always meant to be. Living without vision, and paralyzed by fear Of a voice that’s crying out inside that you never seem to hear. All that really matters and what you’ve failed to understand That the key to all the change you want was always there within your hands. You feel the desperation. You think that’s all there is But with a little faith you could have it all if you decide to take the risk. But it’s alright, given everything you’ve tried before To begin to think that it’s beyond your reach and there’s never gonna be much more. But in spite of all the things that you’ve been through There isn’t any anything that God can’t do And you’d be amazed At the change it makes With just a little faith And some conviction of the heart. Stop and think it over, the treasures you might find If you only knew that everything you want was inside you all the time. There isn’t any mystery, it’s just the fear of change But if you fail to try the only certain thing is it will always be the same. You’re gonna need to take some chances, it’s gonna take a leap of faith Or you could fool yourself into believing that there’s no difference it would make. Try to take some comfort, that when you leave your comfort zone. The Lord is at your side with every step you take so you won’t ever be alone. ? You know it’s gonna be better, you’re gonna reach much higher With some conviction of the heart. It’s gonna be amazing, where your faith will take you. With some conviction of the heart. Your faith is gonna raise you, You know the Lord will lift you With some conviction of the heart. You know it’s gonna be better, you’re gonna reach much higher With some conviction of the heart.
