It's a 7-minute rock epic, in a vaguley Pink Floyd-meets-Nirvana kinda way.
We are Delusi0n, a prog-tinged hard rock band from Ayrshire, Scotland. At the moment it's just me (Neil McDougall), but that will change once I start back at college.
Story behind the song
I can't remember where I saw it, but the first couple of lines were something I saw on a message board somewhere. The rest just kinda....happened, as songs usually do with me.
AS for its subject, I'm not really sure. There seems to be bits about alienation, separation and protection, but I think on the whole it's more like a stream of conciousness.

THE QUESTION - Words and music (c) 2002 Neil McDougall
VERSE ONE
---------
Black horse in the stable,
Love is cold and veiled,
Stuck on earth with no way out,
Evolution's failed,
I don't know where I'm going,
I don't know where I've been,
Scared of going nowhere,
In love with what I've seen
BRIDGE
------
Is there anybody out there?
Can anyone hear me call?
Have I been cut from a lifeline?
Am I destined to fall?
Am I destined to fall?
VERSE TWO
---------
Smoke above the treetops,
Mountains fill the sky,
You're complete, I'm obsolete,
This truth I'll not deny,
Rivers fill the valleys,
Flow into the sea,
You never change, I rearrange,
'Cause once you were like me,
BRIDGE
------
Disparity is union,
Despair is turned to glee,
We were joined at the waistline,
Now you're seperate from me,
Now you're seperate from me.
CHORUS
------
Caught between the heart and mind,
The answers I have yet to find,
To the question that you speak,
Does not knowing make me weak?
The weakness I must overcome,
Lest the answers fade into the sun,
All the questions fade away,
'Til the sun returns from yesterday.
VERSE THREE
-----------
Breathe until you're airsick,
Live until you're dead,
Sticks and stones may break your bones,
When you're safe inside your bed,
This life it ain't no fairground ride,
No carnival of fun,
But I'll make sure you're safe inside,
This race is yet to run,
BRIDGE
------
Your wounds are close to healing,
The bandages will fall,
I'll be there to be your lifeline,
I won't let you fall,
I won't let you fall,
CHORUS
------
SOLO
----
CHORUS
------
END SOLO
