No band, just me and I'm no performer
Lyrics
SUN SHINE
©Ricki E. Bellos
On a day layered grey years ago
I broke him out, I drove him home
He said I was the only one to understand
No offense meant to my Mom and Dad
He knew I wouldn’t mind
We were two of a kind
As the clouds opened up he smiled
See the sun shine
It calms an uneasy mind
Reaches inside
Feel the sun shine
We noticed how the landscape had changed
How his past had been rearranged
The garden had been replaced by Queen Anne’s lace
Crumbling stone was all time had not erased
There was no one to blame
But it hurt just the same
As we left the car he looked up and smiled
See the sun shine
It warms your weary bones
All your worries gone
Feel the sun shine
We made our way up where the porch had stood
Would’ve taken more time and sat if we could
Though he leaned on my arm, his mind was clear
We both knew there wouldn’t be a next year
See the sun shine
I held his hand in case
See the sun shine
It lit his aged face
No regrets, not a trace
We felt the sun shine
When I find myself lost in clouds
I feel his smile, then the sun comes out
