Story behind the song
Dave Clapham: Bass, Guitars Andy Crawford: Vocals, guitars Lynn Monk: Drums. percussion, Keyboards Arranged, Mixed and Mastered by Lynn Monk ============================================== Dave originally sent me a CD with a number of songs for me to listen to. They all had a hiphop kind of drum loop on them. Although most of the songs were OK with that kind of drum loop, this one stood out as being the one which didn't suit it at all. Dave then sent me his original multitrack file and I re-arranged the song to a structure that built more successfully towards the end. This did lengthen the song to around 6 minutes, but as it was an album track, it was acceptable. I then added drums that I played in real time to the feel of the Bass and guitars; and real percussion instruments to make more use of the high frequencies. I also added some strings to the arrangement. Although Dave and Andy were very pleased with the result, and probably learnt a lot from studying what I'd done with their multitrack file, there were some issues that they later decided to reconstruct themselves. I never heard their later version but I have now remixed the original and restructured the part of the song that they were most concerned about in the previous mix. I think this song has a good hook and some really clever lyrics. I enjoyed working on it. Thanks lads!
