Story behind the song
I had an unfinished lyric that I gave to Scott because it seemed to suit his style and Scott had a melody looking for a home. A wonderful match!

Summertime Easy

Sun beating down in its summer heat
And the cool green grass is such a treat
I think I’ll lay me down
Look up at the world from down on the ground
Airplanes writing in a sky-blue sky
Playing tag with the puffy clouds floating by
I don’t think I’ll ever move
I’m in a lazy summer mood
I’m too tired it seems
To run after my dreams
Maybe they will find me
On the grass under this tree
I’m summertime easy
Summertime easy
Summertime easy
I’m summertime easy
I meander on home to my front porch swing
Sit back and listen to the birdies sing
Sip an ice-cold lemonade
Watch as the street moves into shade
Somewhere in the house I’ve got me a list
Of important deadlines that can’t be missed
Come September I’ll dig it out
And wonder what the fuss was all about
Fall to Spring is time enough
To run after my dreams
Summertime is time enough
To let them come to me
I’m summertime easy
Summertime easy
Summertime easy
I’m summertime easy
