I see a young maid standing in a stream

Washing the dirt away from her old man’s jeans
G F C G
Looking to the west bank where her children play
G F C G
Lookin quite refreshed despite her toilsome day
Refrain:

I say now children of the world lend a hand
G F C G
Come and join your brothers and give back to the land
G F C G
I see some young men standing in a field
G F C G
In the browness of their bodies and the smallness of their yield
G F C G
They’ve got a look of satisfaction on their sweating brow
G F C G
They’ve got a song of joy as they walk behind the plow
Refrain:
G F C G
Blackberries, Strawberries, pick them when you feel
G F C G
Wildflowers growin in the sunlight of the field
G F C G
Pick one and bring it to your love when you go
G F C G
Take only what you need and let the others grow
Refrain:
