Based on my brother's experience in Haiti right after the earthquake as well as an anonymous account from a Haitian lady stating a sincere belief by some Catholic Hatians that the earthquake was punishment from God directly resulting from the first settlers of Haiti having slaves. It makes me sad and angry to know that people believe a tragic natural disaster was a guilt trip from God.
