After a music layoff, I rediscovered my Fender Strat, purchased a Zoom PS-02 around 2003 to record some cover songs to play along with and help me practice. With help from other musicians in the Zoom PS-02/PS-04 and Fender Discussion Page (FDP) forums, I started putting some of my ideas into songs.

Story behind the song
One evening while playing my acoustic guitar the music for this song came to me. I couldn’t wait to finish documenting my thoughts on the music and start writing the lyrics but to my surprise when I started to try and put lyrics to the music I had nothing … not a clue to what this song should be about. For years, I would kick this song around trying different techniques for generating lyrics but I had nothing. Then one evening while sitting in a church at a Saturday service, while taking communion, a very strong thought came into my mind … “I was missing something”. This thought both puzzled me and persisted as I left the church service that evening and on the way home. Once home I though I would practice the music that I would be playing for my next time up with the Praise Team that I was a part of at this church. As I was getting my guitar setup the thought came to me to try this song again. Even as I got setup to play it, I was thinking “some songs are just meant to be instrumentals, but as soon as I started playing the song these lyrics in the song poured out. It was quite an emotional session for me and during it I found the answer to the earlier thought I had during communion that “I was missing something”. What I was missing and now found was the profound feelings for what Jesus has done for all of us.
