Moss (24, born Christopher Wilson, ASCAP) weaves his powerful punch-line driven raps over the explosive and often times epic production of Pete Ryan. Full Bio:
Moss (23, born Christopher Wilson, ASCAP) has steadily been building momentum as a contender in the Mile High City’s growing urban music scene for a while now and it appears he has a shot at becoming the first urban artist to rise to stardom out of the unlikely state of Colorado. Although his home is at the base of the Rockies, he’s not quite what you’d expect from a Colorado native. Christopher is the youngest of 3 brothers and was raised by a single mother doing her best to support her children. He spent his childhood traveling back and forth between CO and the Deep South. It was in Alabama that Moss cut his teeth as a rapper and artist. He was sent to live with his father, a popular southern gospel singer at the time, and quickly learned that in the South where violence, hatred, and racism are very real aspects of life, he had to be quick witted and sharp to gain his peers’ respect. As a teen, Wilson used “battling” to win respect and show off his skills on the schoolyard of Murphy High School. In these battles he learned the importance of wordplay and simple but effective lyrical punch-lines. Murphy High is a famous and prestigious school in Mobile, AL whose school creed begins “Let me remember that, if I am really to live, I must live my own life. For when I pretend to be someone else, to claim someone else’s ideas and knowledge, I am not actually living at all.” This simple idea of making our own way seems to have influenced Moss’ life and art. At 18, Moss returned home to Colorado with a vision for his music and started “Livest Vibe.” Shortly after, he was introduced to a producer who would revolutionize his career. Pete Ryan (26, born Jeffrey Ryan Petersen, ASCAP) recorded his first punk rock song at the age of 11, began proclaiming himself a “producer” at 12, and started releasing original music at 16. Heir to a family fortune, Pete led a troubled upper class upbringing and found his escape in music. Ryan’s father was a blues rock singer and guitar player and taught him to play the piano, guitar, and drums from a very young age. He attended university for Business and Music and while studying economics and management alongside music theory, production, and composition he conceived and wrote the business plan for the company that would eventually become Evermax Media LLC named after his son Maximus. Evermax is now the permanent home for Moss and Livest Vibe. Boasting a classic but genre-bending epic style of Rap/R&B the team refers to as “Hard & B” and with a dedicated staff, major deals coming in, sponsorships, theme songs, financing, magazine covers, and radio support the question is not whether they’ll make it. The question now: How big is this thing going to get?
