Breath and Vapor by Mike Vargas
As a child breathes against a glass
Forming a vapor
That fades into the past
So it was with me
And your Holy majesty
In the beginning you made the man
A work of art sculpted
By your Holy hand
Human life began
When your breath entered Adam
You are God eternal
I was man temporal
Man rebelled and fell from grace
The wage of sin
Death that shortened his days
His life within
Made a momentary fade
This death reigned for years
Then you Lord
Holy and anointed appeared
Your life is the breath
That made the human vapor
You are breath eternal
I was vapor temporal
I was like a brief vapor
That fades away
Till you gave up your breath
At Calvary
So I can live with in eternity
Though I was you enemy
You died for me
So that this vapor
Is renewed through eternity
You are Messiah Immortal
I am vapor eternal
