For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Lyrics
Is There Anything Left For Me? (v1) Gave my soul to Jesus, and I gave my heart to you Pay more and more in taxes, the rest goes to overdue Gave some time to my country, even more to charity Now I’m startin’ to wonder, is there anything left for me CHORUS I’m all outta time and money I’ve given so much it just ain’t funny I don’t mind giving all that I can Never hesitated with a helping hand I’m not cryin’ or complainin’ Not looking for sympathy I’m just wonderin’, is there anything left for me (v2) I barely made my mortgage, now the car payment’s almost due Then my mind starts wandering, bout the things I’d like to do They’ll never be nothing but dreams, it’s just reality I’ve given most everything I have, to the hands reaching out to me BRIDGE I work damned hard for the money I make But I’m eating hamburger when I’d rather have steak If you want more from me you’ll just have to wait Cuz I got nothing left to give or take CHORUS Yeah, I’m all outta time and money I’ve given so much it just ain’t funny I don’t mind giving all that I can Never hesitated with a helping hand I’m not cryin’ or complainin’ Not looking for sympathy I’m still wonderin’, is there anything left for me © 2011 Alan D.
