(Ananya Laxshmi, Sonu, Terry anna, Spottu and Tobee at the forest).
Each carries their picnic basket covered with red cloth. Sandwiches, apples, grapes, biscuits. Terry anna helps carry a bottle of milk; Ananya Lakshmi carries her own bottle of water, Tobee, a large bar of cheese and Little Spottu carries his ball of wool to play with.
Finding a spot to set up their picnic, next to a large tree, cut and lying on the floor of the forest, Terry anna, Spottu and Sonu start to set up the picnic. Tobee sets down his backpack and cheese. Opening his backpack, the first thing he pulls out, is an electric toaster, and begins to look for an electric outlet to plug it into. A picnic cloth is pulled out of a back-pack, and is carefully set. Plates and utensils and picnic foods are placed on the picnic cloth.
Spottu
Tobee…you can't use a toaster in the forest.
Tobee
Why not?
Spottu
There's nothing to plug it into, that's why not. There aren't any electrical outlets in the forest, silly.
Tobee
Oh.
When the picnic is set, everyone sits down, drinking and eating thoughtfully.
Birds and animals of the forest come by, to perform for morsels of food.

Terry anna
What did you say, Tobee? I didn’t quite hear you.
Ananya Laxshmi
Tobee, don’t talk with your mouth full!
Tobee, who has been munching his food, takes a sip of water, and then says:
But I didn’t say anything!
Terry anna
Spottu, did you say anything?
Spottu
No Terry anna, I’ve been busy eating.
Terry anna
I thought I heard someone.
Large tree, cut and lying on the floor of the forest.
Someone help me, help me please, I am in so much pain!

The wicked woodcutter cut me down in the cover of the night. I cried and cried but he could not hear me wailing. I am in so much pain…. Help me please!
Little Kakatuwa, (crying, Big teardrops were falling from his eyes).
Sniffle, sniffle, Boo! Hoo! Hoo! Who will take care of me, now that my Mamma is lying on the floor? Mamma, Mamma, get up Mamma, please!
Terry anna, (rushing to the side of the Little tree, and licking his leaves)
Don’t cry little tree. We are all here with you.

And so are we! Don’t cry Little Kakatuwa, we will look after you and give you shade!

I want my Mamma, I want my Mamma
Little Ananya Lakshmi (running to Sonu, crying)
Mamma, I want my Mamma.
(Sonu pulls out her mobile phone, and calls Mamma).
Ananya Laxshmi, Sonu, Terry anna, Spottu and Tobee
Mamma, come here Mamma. A tree has fallen on the floor and we are all scared of the wicked woodcutter who is coming to hack the tree to pieces. Mamma, please come, Mamma.
Sonu to Mamma, on the mobile fun.
Yes, Mamma. I hear you. OK, Mamma. I won’t forget! I love you too! Bye! Bye!
(To the others)
Now listen to me all of you. Mamma says –

(Joyously)
Momma!
Sonu
--she can’t come.

(Dejected)
Oh. Momma isn’t coming.
Sonu
Just like we are at the forest to play, Mamma says she has to go to work right away. She is sending someone.

Sonu
Mamma, didn’t say, but he will be here right away, and he is someone who will be able to help better.

Terry anna begins to sniff around –
(to Spottu, hiding among the leaves of the fallen tree)
What are you doing there?
(Spottu quickly hides something under his belly).
