Story behind the song
This song was recorded by an Orkney artist, Ruby Rendall in 1987 who did a very nice version of it, recorded in London with a group of great musicians. It was picked up for a Charity Album. It is the only song of mine which has been recorded by an artist and released as a record. Ruby Rendall is still singing and recording and you can find her on the internet. If you read this Ruby, thanks very much.
Lyrics
My Heart's In Trouble Over You I've been everything but good, as I've made my way along and I've often been in trouble, 'cause that's the card I drew And, I thought that I would teach you somethin' about lovin' but, I'm the one who found myself learnin' something new. Well, I thought that I'd be leavin' when the morning came to wake me and no woman born could make me, change my point of view. But, now I'm in real trouble for the first time in my life and I can't believe the changes you've got me goin' through. chorus: My heart's in trouble over you You've got me watchin' everything you do. My mind is full of fight, but the way you love's so right That my heart's in trouble over you. Well, I guess I'll be in trouble just as long as I'm alive, but it's a different kind of trouble than any I ever knew. It's made of rings and promises and games of love each night and facin' life together, and bein' square and true. (note : ladies should sing "and no cowboy born could make me") copyright 1987 by Victor Compton
