Story behind the song
If you ever had the chance to listen to my tune 'Cartoon' you might have been wondering why on earth there was a 19 second silence at the beginning of the song. The simple reason is that when I first uploaded the song I thought "I'll edit it later" as I didn't have a programme to do it with at hand, but I didn't realise that if I wanted to change the song file on soundclick later that would also change the copyright date.... So for that reason I left it as it was. The other day I listened to it again and thought why haven't I corrected the wave file so far when it only takes a few minutes to cut off the silence and add some effects. So today I did. :) Enjoy listening! :) In case you haven't read the story behind the song, here it is: When composing this one, as the title implies, I imagined a cartoon. First pictures: Scene of nature; beautifully green forest, streams, flowers, birds and the sun shining through the branches. Picture changes after every first or second bar in the introduction until the ninth bar where all of the instruments come in. From the ninth bar you see a little village with poor, but happy people dealing with all aspects of their everyday lives; an old man carrying water buckets on his shoulder (each bucket hanging off of the side of a stick), another one leading a donkey that carries wood on its back, children playing and laughing. Despite poverty, there’s love and happiness in the air.
