The roots of THE FATHOMLESS DEEP can be traced back to 1999, when Tuomas M. and Jyri had (consecutively) obtained their first guitars. After several teen-angsty years enjoying teen-angsty music, our attentions turned to blacker, deathier, doomier, jazzier, and more progressive soundscapes, which describes our current sound quite well. A considerable length of time passed, and TFD finally saw the light of day as "Right of the Master", in January of '08, bringing long-time musical co-conspirator Tuomas O. into the picture (after years of arduous convincing that metal kicks ass). Shortly after, the band chose the name BEING. Joonas (Bass/vocals) and Chris (Violin) joined the band in late 2009. The band existed as Being until late in 2010 when upon discovering a signed band of the same name, the moniker was changed once more. THE FATHOMLESS DEEP was born. The band is currently playing gigs and recording its debut album to be unleashed in 2011. The dreamer awakens...
