Fun little tune about a trip to L.A. (DEMO)
Ded Zephyr formed in Jan 2010 as an original band influenced by the Blues inspired Jam music of the 60's and 70's.
Story behind the song
A song I wrote about a hitch-hiking trip I took from Monterey CA. to Los Angeles, and the perils I encountered along the way.
Lyrics
I was hitchin' out to L.A.,
hangin' out in Monterey,
when I met up with a woman,
who said she'd take me all the way.
"Ass gas or grass",
she said, "no one rides for free",
so I flipped her 20 dollars,
and sat back for a ride.
Her car was doin' 90,
when her engine up, and died.
"Hmmm, sorry honey,
this ain't your lucky day".
I said "Yeah, no sh** ".
So I took my 20 dollars,
and started walking to L.A.
when I met up with a woman,
who said she'd take me all the way.
Oh no, here I go again.
So I slid into the front seat,
and she took off like a flash,
the girl was drivin' crazy,
I said "Slow down, we're gonna crash".
(Guitar Solo)
Well I made it down to L.A.
man it was a scary ride.
If I had to do it over,
nex time I think I'll walk.
