I'm a singer/songwriter and am losing my voice to a neuromuscular disorder. So I am on a quest to have my songs heard and hopefully recorded by someone.
Mama always wanted to be a singer
But she chose to raise a family instead
So as I was growing up I sang for Mama
And this is what my Mama always said
(CHORUS) Won’t you please sing one more song for Mama
Cause Mama loves to hear her daughter sing
And even when I’m gone I’ll feel the music in my soul
And all the love that every song will bring
Time went on and I became a singer
Just like Mama wanted me to be
And every time I thought I’d sung my last song
Mama always smiled and said to me (Repeat chorus)
Then one day my Mama caught an illness
And the doctor said that she was gonna die
And I knew that the worst thing I could do for her
Was to sit and let my Mama see me cry (repeat chorus)
So I played my guitar for Mama
Even though I knew she’d passed away
Cause I knew that somehow she’d hear the music
And everything that I was trying to say
And now every time I sing for people
Every time they think the show is done
I always sing just one more song for Mama
As if the show had only just begun
I tell them let’s sing one more song for Mama
Cause Mama loves to hear her daughter sing
And even though she’s gone she’ll feel the music in her soul
And all the love that every song will bring
