Forgoing the classic trio and quartet paradigm of popular music, Monday comprises itself of six experienced musicians. Dave MacKay (vocals) rips through the choruses with the strident energy of several vocalists, yet remains able to maintain a pure refined tone for much of the rest of the melodies. Dave’s range allows him to come roaring to the climax of a song, and still have more for the next one. Graeme Ball (bass, violin, vocals) is a classically trained violinist, taking his skill and knowledge of music and putting it to work on the bass guitar. Incorporating elements of funk, classical and rock music, he brings an energizing dimension of originality to the group. Drummer by trade, guitarist by choice, Robin Ozolins combines elements of both in writing music for Monday. His deft picking style and drummer’s rhythm account well for the balance and tight interlocking grooves of Monday’s music. Jamie Daiken (lead guitar), trained originally in the subtleties of jazz guitar, plays solid riffs that are anything but subtle. His expertise on the instrument is self-evident through his chord progressions and intricate technique. Toms Tenteris adds his own distinct style to the band, adding powerful haunting guitar parts and a surprising range of additional vocals to the music. This is all brought together by Monday’s drummer Tim Stewart who drives the band steadily onward. There is much to like about Monday. The band combines elements of rock with rich vocal harmonies that surge through the melodic, yet powerful, melodies. Subtle guitar parts merge in and out of punchy basslines, blending flawlessly with the overall flow of the music. The fullness of Monday’s sound is infused with the band’s unique stylistic instrumentation, and cuts through the contemporary rock genre with a refreshing new style. Slap bass riffs open up into cascading guitar lines, vocal harmonies weave their way through solid chord progressions, and the end result is a raw, driving energy. The band showcases an invigorating mix of technical proficiency and soaring resonance, while at the same time maintaining a tight, powerful sound. This establishes Monday as a band with a fresh new sound and voice that is uniquely their own.

Lyrics
Heal I know things have been hard And you feel all alone Your friends, you can’t trust And you feel all alone You’ll be ok You have nothing left to fear I will always be here As time passes by you will heal You will heal Looking back at your life You see the mistakes you’ve made It’s ok, I understand I’m on your side You’ll be ok You have nothing left to fear I will always be here As time passes by you will heal You will heal I feel you pain I see your light I reach behind I touch your face I see your light I feel behind I reach your hand You’ll heal You’ll be ok You have nothing left to fear I will always be here As time passes by you will heal You will heal You’ll be ok You have nothing left to fear I will always be here As time passes by you will heal You will heal You will heal…
