lots of guitars and some piano plinking away in the background. just a punky little song taking you back to the late 70's/early 80's
I got to the point that just didn't have the time or the desire to try to keep a gigging band together.
I wrote all the songs for the last live band I played i
Story behind the song
i was looking for an uptempo, simple, punk kind of song. i had had some of the lyrics written for a long time. i was reviewing the bits and pieces i had scrawled on anything from a napkin to a receipt and this is what came together

Lyrics
you think it's funny when i say let's run away
and not save for a rainy day
just put it on red and hope it spins our way
it won't take long and you know it's not real far
so just hop right in my car
let's find out who we really are
i'm tossing and turning and you know i never saw it coming
still torn and tattered don't think i ever got a warning
not looking back too far at yesterday's decisions
flying or free falling hard to tell for way to many reasons
see how the city lights seem to reflect what's in your eyes
and i think it's time you realized
we can find some bluer skies...that's why i'm
tossing and turning and you know i never saw it coming
still torn and tattered don't think i ever got a warning
you think it's funny when i say let's run away
and not save for a rainy day
put it on red and hope it spins our way
tossing and turning and you know i never saw it coming
still torn and tattered don't think i ever got a warning
not looking back too far at yesterday's decisions
flying or free falling hard to tell for way too many reasons
