Story behind the song
Upbeat song about finding answers, though some may take effort. Recorded on 'not good' equipment. Yet.
Lyrics
Someone else sings from across the lake Burned by the sun but not quite ready to escape This place where water and families gather Where seagulls lie in wait for someone to surrender Their crumbs and there they wait Put everything on repeat in order to learn But order can't order me to discern It's just a bit over my head like blue skies and sunshine Like a meaning for my life that I can not find And I've been trying for some time And I keep trying all the time. Like a land of buried pelts and like-minds Just grab the tackle box and set off For where the beach meets the parking lot Well you can call me crazy and you're probably right But that solace, that moment of catharsis Well you can call me crazy and you're probably right But it's sure hard to find. Like a reflection on muddy waters It's difficult to see what lay below And staring straight into it only bothers To show us what we already know. Sometimes you can't really find out without getting wet Sometimes you just gotta jump in Sink or swim that's what I said I remember when it was sticks and flasks and camping masks, Looking for mischief down the road, We stood electric in the storms On the hills and stones Our hair stood on end and it singed us to the bone. And we laughed. With arms spread wide when the pouring began And we ran all the way back Like an alluvial fan And the sky laughed too A booming echo a thunderous bellow And the sky laughed too What else could it do?
