An amateur Songwriter/Musician a work in progress
I've played in a few cover bands, started off playing lead guitar ended up playing bass, drums and even keyboards a few times and although it was fun never had any great success. I'm now more of an amateur song writer and trying very hard to come up with some songs that might impress someone enough to want to record them.

Story behind the song
A story about our obsession with wanting to be famous. PS. I had the song completed when it was pointed out to me that it sounded just like Tom Petty's "Free Falling". I have to admit it really does, It was not my intention to copy that song, but hey I had the song done and liked it so here it is.
Lyrics
That's Fame If You Want It 1.Just a small town boy, with big asperations Gotta get out of this place and make some noise So he walked the plank, of his fears and reservations Destiny on standby, whilst he made his choice. 2. So he followed the rainbow, to a pot of gold in the city Thought he'd make a big impression and get his name up in lights So he strummed his guitar, gathered up dollars in the kitty His melodies kept him warm, on those dark lonely nights Chorus O OOOH That's fame if you want it O OOOH But it comes at a price O OOOH Seeking riches and glory You're life in the balance, with a roll of the dice 3. In night clubs he'd watch and he got inspiration A few words and three chords later, he had his first song As he got up and sang, people stopped to listen His fingers danced out the rythm, His wires were coming on strong. 4. So a man in a suit, said this kids really somethin Started talkin the talk, as he laid out his plan Said son if you wanna make it, you'll need my backin Take my advice, an I'll make you the man 5. So he signed on the dotted line, an album in the makin And in the blink of an eye, he had his first hit Travelled down nameless roads, it was all about promotion On his rocket to fame, the torch paper was lit 6. So he answered their questions, with lingual repetition One show to the next, his strings fell out of tune It's not how he imagined, his dreams up for auction Stardust in his eyes, as he flew to the moon.
