Last week I got e-mail from JoCo It said the future's great sent personally Turns out he's playing close to where I live Well not really close but I'll drive that far I can't go alone cause my wife said no But she told me to go with some guys that I know Gotta get ready for a road trip and I can't hardly sleep Even though it's only August and he plays in April Cause I'm gonna see Jon Coulton soon I can't wait to see him play Cause he makes the things that are weird and strange seem normal and mundane Gonna see Jon Coulton soon And Paul and Storm will be there And when my life is boring, I can close my eyes and he's already here I wonder if he'll play I'm Still Alive Singing distorted in that robotic voice I plan on singing with him quite loudly I hope other patrons won't mind if I'm off Blurting out some of the lyrics wrong I hope that my memory doesn't fail I will do my best to learn them And get training vocally I just hope that I can get it and he'll soon tour with me Cause I'm gonna see Jon Coulton soon I can't wait to see him play Cause he makes the things that are weird and strange seem normal and mundane Gonna see Jon Coulton soon And Paul and Storm will be there And when my life is boring, I can close my eyes and he's already Here at home she wonders Why I grow my beard and never shave And the clothes and glasses will make me whole I won't be returning home I'll make Coulton's life my own I'll see him standing by the backstage door He'll look at me and greet me with a hello I'll call my sidekicks to drive the car around I'll say I'm sorry and stuff him in the trunk Real quickly Crowds eye me suspiciously Hearing the songs not in JoCo?s own voice But they listen and sing along And clap and change their minds When this bad impersonator gives them the time of their lives Well, I'm gonna be Jon Coulton soon And I won't always be this way When I take his place up on the stage and pull in JoCo pay I'm gonna be Jon Coulton soon And Paul and Storm will be there Cause when I am successful I'll remember him and wish that he was here.
