Riding in a Beetle
With a flower on the door
Deb was eating watermelon
Spitting seeds on the floor
Two of us going nowhere
With everywhere to go
We headed out for Dallas
But got lost in Chicago
We had to ask directions
The window wouldn't roll down
Deb stood up through the sun roof
Smoking our best homegrown
The policeman said Deb was pretty
I could not disagree
Said come with me to the station
We were young and tried to flee
Zero to sixty in twenty seconds
Double clutching through every gear
The radio drained the battery
No heat, no air
What a piece of crap
We drove around the corner
Turned left on a one way street
We never saw it coming
There was no time to retreat
Another Beetle came towards us
The same flower on the door
Deb jumped out the sun roof
The brake pedal went through the floor
Good thing I had no insurance
My premium would have increased
The best part of this story
Was that no one was deceased
Zero to sixty in twenty seconds
Double clutching through every gear
The radio drained the battery
No heat, no air
What a piece of crap
