Lyrics
Flying high above the sea Words and music by George Lindsay October 2008 Am E Am I came to hear the people sing, perhaps to join them too E Am I came to hear the music ring and learn just what to do. F Am Nobody said you cana019t do that F Am Oh no you cana019t appear F Am Nobody said how do you dare E Am They said a013a01Cwea019re glad youa019re herea01D I was struck with awe as I walked inside, the doors of that great hall The music slapped me in the chest, and rocked my very soul The look of wonder in their eyes Was never in the score The passion that was in their voice Came right up through the floor. F Am Sopranos flying high above the sea F Am Altos close behind, in perfect harmony F Am Tenors were in unison, singing high and clear F And the base men with their lyrics strong, E Am proclaiming that their voices know no fear. For each and every one of them, the music was the key And lost within its mystery, is where they want to be There were no trophies to be won No winner to commend But each face smiled in victory As they parted at the end. Dona019t ask me what makes all of them, Come forward, sing out loud To give their voice, their soul, their self, to satisfy the crowd They do it for themselves at first Then share it with their friends And soon it goes to everyone And the pleasure never ends Sopranos flying high above the sea Altos close behind, in perfect harmony Tenors were in unison, singing high and clear And the base men with their lyrics strong, Proclaiming that their voices know no fear.
