Horror Rap -single
This is actually a old Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra track from March 1985. In it's internet premier, it's being issued under the OSMOSIS banner, mainly because of it's wild sound. A 22-year-old ME, from a generation ago. Dig.

Story behind the song
HORROR RAP was originally intended to be a part of "Edge Of A Dream" (1985). It is a sillyass track which predates the first 'named' OSMOSIS single by about 5 years. This is an upgraded version of the original cassette-single edit. The album version (also upgraded) will be posted shortly.
Songwise, it's about 2 wiseass zombies, "Fred and Kool", talkin' sh** --like most early rappers were doing in '85. (yes, I even DATE the track with the "Disco's Dead" reference!). As for why I dropped it from the "Edge Of A Dream" cassette-album: It just didn't sound right coming after the 20-minute live psychedelic instrumental "Cosmic Dreams". Odd, considering that same album project also featured the original "I Won't Tell You What To Do", "Tear The Floor Out From Under Your Feet", and "Castle Sinn" (which was actually recorded LATER than "Horror Rap", but is referenced nonetheless).
Also of note: "The Strange, The Freaky, The Bizarre and The Weird!!" was recorded 3 days after THIS song (and in effect, is a kinda sequel). Same B-Movie type theme going.
Well, here's a younger me (only 22 and silly!) from a generation ago. I guess the 'Statute Of Limitations' expired (Ha Ha!!). Hope ya'll enjoy.
-Lawrence (a.k.a. OSMOSIS)
PS: Oh, did I mentioned that this archival Cosmic Funk/OSMOSIS thang is a FREE DOWNLOAD? Go For It.
