Upbeat honky tonk tune with great guitar and sing a long chorus...
Just a little tune that I wrote about being in bars and honky tonks for 20 yrs and how the same songs keep getting requested over and over each and every night...Being from the south, you hear a lot of "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" so this song kinda puts a different spin on the subject of drunks yelling "Play some Skynyrd"!!!!!!
"If I Had a Dollar"
(j.s. connell )
Well if I had a dollar for every Skynyrd fan
who wanted to hear "Freebird" or "Sweet Home Alabam"...
Well I'd gladly play this guitar and I'd be a wealthy man...
Yeah, If I had a dollar from every Skynyrd fan...
Its smokey bars and old guitars and two or three ex-wives...You see I've spent a million, to live this Rockstar life....So if you'll pass my tip jar I just may pay my rent, Cause I'll guarantee you my rents already spent...
But If I had a dollar for every Skynyrd fan,
Who wanted to hear Freebird or Sweet Home Alabam...
I'd gladly play this guitar and I'd be a wealthy man,
If I had a dollar from every Skynyrd fan...
Around the world all the party girls they love a music man,
Seems like all the ugly ones want to hold my hand...
They bat their eyes and flash a smile then tip me their last five, not knowin they ain't got a chance as long as their alive...
But If I hhad a dollar for every Skynyrd fan,
Who wanted to hear freebird, or sweet home Alabam'...
I'd gladly play this guitar and I'd be a wealthy man,
Yeah, if I had a dollar from every Skynyrd fan...
Give me a Shot, and all the bills you got...
And twenty chicken wings Lord that just might hit the spot...
Yes your daughter's pretty, and no your wife is not,
and yes I love to party........But no I don't smoke pot...
But if I had a dollar for every Skynyrd fan,
who wanted to hear Freebird or Sweet Home Alabam'...
Well I'd gladly play this guitar and I'd be a wealthy man,
Yeah, if I had a dollar from every Skynyrd fan...
