Featuring possibly the world's first overdriven mandolin solo, this rocks. Thumping rhythm, hooky mandolin, it's another song about not dealing with breakups very sensibly.

Story behind the song
HERE I GO AGAIN words and music: Duncan Clee This began life on an open-tuned guitar which wasn't going anywhere. I eventually got so fed up with having to re-tune every time I wanted to play it that I rewrote it for normal tuning - and suddenly a song, complete with lyrics, came tumbling out. It happens like that sometimes. THE SESSION Recorded on four-track with delay all over one of the acoustics and featuring what may be the world's first overdriven mandolin solo (the dirty mandolin sound originally came from accidentally stepping on the wrong footswitch one day). And of course not forgetting the mighty Zippo. In fact, the first session was abandoned. In the pub we decided to give it another go but by the time we got back home... Well, having delay all over the acoustic guitar seemed like a great idea and who could say how it would have sounded without it? THE CAST Mandolin, lead and backing vocals: Duncan Clee Delayed acoustic and backing vocals: Bill Broughton DATES Original 4-track recording: September 1992 in the flat Digital editing: Summer 1999 in Baltimore, Co Cork Re-recorded to DAT: October 2000 by Serpico
