Story behind the song
It took about as long to write this as it takes to play it. There was the mandolin riff and we all jammed along to it, Bill came up with the words and there you have it. THE SESSION Can't remember a great deal about the session so it must have been fairly straightforward. Must have been getting good at it by then. Bill had just learned the jaw harp and it gives the track a great lift. THE CAST Acoustic and lead vocals, jaw harp and percussion: Bill Broughton Mandolin, (low) backing vocals and percussion: Duncan Clee DATES Original 4-track recording: September 1992 in the flat Re-recorded to DAT: October 2000 by Serpico
