Story behind the song
Danny and I were having a conversation where I told him how cold it was in Florida, he said I had no idea what cold was all about. Then he said I should write something about freezing in Florida, this is the result of that conversation. Mike had the tune already and the lyric was written to fit the music.
Lyrics
Freezing in The Keys copyright 2008 Barry Williams / Mike Frisbey / Danny Bloodworth Verse 1: On a half broke television At our favorite tiki bar Weatherman says it's snowin' where you are Down here the palms are swaying A souful guitar man is playing Our song and it's tearing me apart Chorus 1: He's singing 'bout love and laughter And of happily ever-afters All those things that now seem out of reach Since you left me in paradise My world's turned as cold as ice Without you here it's freezing in the keys Verse 2: That red ball just hit the ocean Sitting, drinking, drowning my emotions Wondering, where did our love go That warm breeze dona€™t help the aching My poor heart just keeps on breaking A flame that hot should have never turned so cold Chorus 2: Flowered shirts and sun burnt noses Happy hour here never closes Feels like its ninty ninty degrees Since you left me here in paradise My worlds turned as cold as ice Without you here it's freezing in the keys Chorus 3: I see lovers holding hands Building castles in the sand, but There might as well be snow up to my knees Since you left me here in paradise My worlds turned as cold as ice Without you here it's freezing in the keys
