Story behind the song
This was a bringing together of people who had the same goal...........producing a good song. Andrew reviewed the original Denis Couture's piano solo and added orchestration. Deborah sang the wondeful lyrics which Richard Roman had written and this is what materialised.
Lyrics
words by Richard Roman © 2008 In a piano bar We first met and stayed til almost two While dancing in the candlelight I stole a kiss from you Romantic songs of love We danced to all of them Every night we couldn’t wait Until we dance again If only I could change One second in that day you’d be on your way Safely through the light And make it home that night Had I known that day would be The last time I’d have the chance I would have told you that I love you And kissed you as we danced It would help to know The reason why the blink of some one’s eye Or the single tick of a clock Decides who lives or dies Fate will never tell Her purpose in our stars And why some roads we travel down Don’t go very far I never said goodbye Or held you before you walked out the door How was I to know? It was your time to go Had I known that day would be The last time I’d have the chance I would have told you that I love you And kissed you as we danced
