YOUNG, FRESH AND VIBRANT
Kharma (a.k.a. Lashandra Hall) is the female rap phenom the whole world is soon to love. She brings a unique southern style, energetic flow, and metaphorical word play, proving herself to reign supreme as a talented lyricist in a male dominated industry. Born and raised in Houston, TEXAS, Kharma now 24, grew up in the violent and impoverished locally well-known hood of Acres Homes which is often represented in her aggressive rhymes. Brought up by her mother and grandmother and the middle sibling of three girls, Kharma found her outlet "runnin' in the streets with the boys." During her high school years she excelled in basketball, and it was also during this time that she developed and understood her love for rap music. From freestyle battles during walks home after-school, to hours a day spent as a spectator in the studio, Kharma was destined to venture into the rap game. "I'm competitive and watching these cats in the studio made me think, if they can, I can too.... I realized I was cold at it." She has been spittin' since the age of 15, and with her 'out to get it' attitude, it is no mystery why Kharma is known as a force to be reckoned with in the South. With years of creative energy released with her pen and pad, she's lyrically out to show and prove why she deserves to be crowned the QUEEN OF THE SOUTH. "My flow, My city/ its the perfect equation/ It equals out to the Queen/ no persuasion." She attributes her style and versatility to her musical influences such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, T.I., Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Aaliyah, and Outkast. "Watching these and other artists gave me the courage to be me and do me....to have my own swagger. I thrived off their energy and lyrics because they had the ability to make people 'move.' I wanted to be that one to make people walk like I walk and talk like I talk. I knew that if I believed in myself, and did the music that I love to do, the rest would fall into place." Kharma
