Story behind the song
This was meant to be the opener on the amazing album and awesome concerts that formed in my imagination. I was young. I was impressionable. And I was crazy about my new found Christian faith. I wanted the whole world to share in it!
Lyrics
Jesus Rules OK? (Adrian J Pratt 1974) Did you know that there's a way To find peace when you're in pain? A way to see the sunshine through the rain. So if you're feeling grumpy, Sad, fed up, lonely or blue, Then turn to my friend Jesus And He will pull you through It ain't no secret, no The whole wide world should know Jesus Christ died to save us All that time ago. So if you're really listening, And if you really feel in need. Then turn to my friend Jesus And from your cares be free Maybe you feel that this life Is some kind of bad joke And that it's all closing in on you And making you choke Well don't listen to Satan He's trying to get you to follow his way Just dedicate yourself to Jesus every day Now would I really be singing this song If I didn't know that it was true Now would I bother to tell you all of these things If Jesus didn't really love you? But He does... so... If you have ears to hear then listen If you have eyes then see That if you sing your song for Jesus You'll be singing on to eternity! Woo. Maybe you think that I've gone right off my head And I'm brainwashed with the doctrine of fools. But that ain't no way Cos I know Jesus rules (O.K?.. ok with me man) And I know that my life isn't perfect, But I'm not asking you to look at me No just turn to Jesus And, the power of Calvary. It ain't no secret, no The whole wide world should know Jesus Christ died to save us All that time ago. So if you're really listening, And if you really feel in need Then turn to my friend Jesus And from your cares be free.
