Story behind the song
Immediately after the tragic events of 9/11, I wanted to capture the feelings of the nation, remember the victims and provide some comfort to so many who were now afraid. NO matter what happens, God still loves us and provides comfort to those who mourn.
Verse 1 * September mourning, veil of sorrow * Creation groaning suffers in vain * Sacred dust, towers rubble * Thousands lost, forever changed * Running from the postman * Soldiers guarding planes * Fear not my child …. His love remains the same * Chorus * The God of mercy, truth and love * Reigns in power from above * Loving embrace of His touch * Freely given righteousness * He’s coming back, for you * He’s coming back, for you (don’t be afraid) * He’s coming, back, for you * Verse 2 * Worlds away, children crying * Faceless hatred feeds on their pain * In the homeland, hearts grow harder * Emotion raging, we turn away * Our government seems impotent * Has our faith been misplaced? * Fear not my child …. His love remains the same * Verse 3 * Cross of mercy, throne of grace * Jesus, Risen, healing our faith * Holy Spirit, tongues of fire * United in love, running our race * Beautiful in glory * Victorious He reigns * Fear not my child …. His love remains the same
