This song is Dedicated to Pam Brunette. She shared her overwhelming grief with us after the death of her son, Greg. Greg spent his life in a wheelchair, singing, laughing, loving. This song is for GRIEF, in MEMORY OF ONE VERY BEAUTIFUL SON.
As our heart prayers reached out to touch and soothe our hurting sister and her family, the song was born out of a need to express a mother's desperate battle with grief. Greg was "quite the guy". Having a rare disability that directed he live his life is a wheelchair, with his mother and family caring for him. Loving him, ENJOYING his humor, his zest for life and living, and the courageous attitude that he faced every day with. Deb Remple and Von wrote this lyric to let Pam know "they felt her pain, and love her dearly" Pam shared her grief, so raw and real, it rocked us to the core. This is ONE STRONG LADY, and we LOVE HER DEARLY.
Von had quite a hard time recording this. She cried all the way through, and we cannot tell you the number of takes it took to get each verse recorded, yet never was a verse recorded without tears. Von decided that while it was NOT the best vocal, it DID carry the heart of her love for this dear woman.
Cynide Mace is performing the fulte part on this song. Thank you Cyndie, thank you SO MUCH for helping us put this song together for this awesome friend.
Verse One
God knows the words
You cannot say
He knows the grief you bare
With each passing day.
God hears your soul
Cry for your son
He weeps when you
Ask why he's gone.
Chorus
As you rest
In God's embrace
The tears that drop
From His face
Fall on you
Like heaven's rain,
They flood your soul,
And heal your pain.
Your deepest grief
Will find deeper grace
As you rest, as you rest,
In God’s embrace.
Verse Two
You still hear his voice (and)
Touch things he loved
Oh how precious
and special Your son was
He was a fighter,
Your buddy, and friend
Now that he’s with Jesus
you feel that
nothing will be the same again…….
Repeat Chorus
Outro:
Sorrow Falls,
Like heaven's rain
As you Rest,
Healing Your Pain,
As you Rest
So Cry those tears
They mix with His
Cuz God remembers,
He remembers
Feeling like this
As You Rest
in God's embrace
In God's embrace
As You Rest
