Story behind the song
The captivating Stone Mountain is a tribute to the reclaiming and transformative properties of Afrikan people. Stone Mountain used to be the head quarters of the white supremacist ku Klux Klan. Afrikan People, mostly from the Caribbean, have reclaimed this piece of ground, invested it with their indomitable spirit and transformed it into a picture postcard alive with peaceful, almost lazy tranquility that is captured and replicated by Lascelles' horn. you can hear it piercing the air, echoing and re-echoing down the mountainsides, touching the valleys and filling the spaces between our collective soul. Sensual vibrations, the original title of this track, suggests the dominant factor in Lascelles' experience of this place and offers an equally fitting description of the resulting tribute.
