Story behind the song
I wrote this song really quickly to enter into a country music festival competition (I don't really like country, so I thought I would write my own song to perform.
Lyrics
I can still remember - the first time that I saw your face. You were looking oh so pretty and I thought I saw you glance my way. So I plucked up the courage, and I asked you if you wanna dance. You said, "My two left feet might trip us up, but I will if you'll take the chance." And I said [Chorus] Yeah oh Yeah, I like you like that, I love you just the way you are, Oh yeah oh yeah. Yeah, oh yeah one last dance to consumate our true romance oh yeah oh yeah. So the years went by and we had a child and we grew old and grey together. You said, "When I look in the mirror, I see a face that's old and worn and weathered." I said that's okay, your still the same- girl I fell in love with long ago. You're the only one that I need. I hope that this you know, and I said... (Chorus) (instrumental) Now Father time has passed you by, and all that's left are my memories. I go to sleep and I dream of you.... take one last dance with me and I say.. Yeah oh yeah I loved you always, I love you right from the start oh yeah oh yeah. Yeah oh yeah one last dance to seal our true romance oh yeah.... I'll always remember you (x3)
