this song was the first song tfl wrote together and was matt's way of wooing rose - he gave her the music as a demo version (in seven time) and said 'what can you do with this then?' rose (who can't do maths or complicated timing) changed the time sig to something easier and wrote the lyrics. she might be clumsy and dizzy and easily flustered...but she certainly does NOT need YOU to help her!
all the planes around here fly so low
all these wires holding me together make me go so slow
i'm trying so hard not to fall down
i've got a crick in my neck from staring up from the ground
and the stairs in my house are not safe
the carpet's pulled from under me
take a good long look at my face
i don't need you to help me
i keep cooking food i dont want to eat
and i'm avoiding the eyes i don't wanna meet
i'm trying so hard not to trip up
but my shoelace is untied, i think maybe i should give it up
and the stairs in my house are not safe
the carpet's pulled from under me
take a good long look at my face
i don't need you to help me
