Jason was working on this song (and also "Same Old Story" for a few days. He had a melody already and verse lyrics that were so-so, but a strong chorus about "time". Janea heard him rehearsing it, came in and suggested the new verse lyrics. Les July came over to track the song in Jason's Studio "Kinky Organ Music" and said that the middle bridge section was 'CRYING OUT FOR A RAP!'; so Jason Through on his rappin' shoes and layed a rap.
