Story behind the song
The Phoenix is black people. Mixed people. My kids....me. The death of the African from slavery and what was born from the atrocity was the phoenix people.
Lyrics
Verse 1 Born out the ashes of my ancestors blood sweat and tears I was lost but now I’m here And here I stand a black man strong and eternal A product of slavery hells fiery inferno The fires that destroyed my people and killed their gods The fires that replaced them with Jesus and left scars Stolen from the mother land and stripped them of their language That’s why blacks today can’t relate to African heritage That journey was a travesty, across the globe On a ship with many horrors to America where they can be sold Like they was cattle, tell me how could they survive? These flames that would eventually annihilate their kind- In time their customs erased and their women was raped And these babies born black into the white mans race A phoenix out the ashes of the Africans burned A new breed of human being was born in the early morn Called the Phoenix Verse 2 The Phoenix was enslaved and the African was murdered And the beatin’s continued to put logs in the furnace And the fire got hotter and the Phoenix got stronger The caged bird wept but it still sang songs of {Freedom} freedom and peace be ready To fly free again like they did over the Serengeti Wings fully extended, the spirit bore witness That it simultaneously ascend over Great Britain My heart beats in rhythmic harmony with two drums The Zulu long and the Tartan war drums in one song The new bloodline the rebirth of mankind Immortal on this planet until the ending of time I will breathe through my family, finally ancestrally, Belonging to God’s energy, cuz that just how he made me Perfect in every way understand where you came from His beloved Phoenix out the fire it was made from Verse 3 They said a drop of black blood will make you black Well a drop of white blood should do the same as that See, we the Phoenix people draw birthrights from both races Created beautiful with honey brown faces From the Ankh and the Pyramids from Isis and Osirus To weathered stone crosses and churches for King Jesus From Shaka Zulu to King Arthur we descend The children of the world majestic women and men With wings made of fire I soar with the eagles In the sky and being black is such a natural high Tutankhamen, and the Sphinx, Poseidon and the Titans The Celtic Iron Age, and the Vikings, and the Pirates I exist in this world so spiritual With the Merovingian blood in my veins please listen to me Brother we come from all over Gods creation Conceived from atrocities was blind but now I can see my Nation
