This is a rough demo of a song I just wrote for Dicko's Boogie Band. Hopefully it will appear on their eventual EP.

We were gonna spend a day at the Burnley Blues Festival over Easter but discovered to our horror that we were completely skint! So I wrote this tune to a guitar riff supplied by my good friend and collaborator, John McKeon. The lyrics were sparked by Chas with the first verse and chorus and I finished them off. (Chas didn't want to be mentioned as having any part in the writing of this song, but I feel that credit is due!)
This demo was done mainly in one take by looping bits and shuffling them around. The first solo is John, the second solo is Chas. The singing is me of course....Don't worry, I wont be singing the final version...I'll be sticking to my drums!
For those who haven't worked it out yet, the song is loosely about being a songwriter!
Got no time to hang around
Must be on the Move
Another new direction
Try a different groove
Point me at the mainstream
Rolling with the flow
CHORUS
========
Getting where im going
Knowing what i know
Life means such a lot to me
Inspiration's guide
People on the other hand
Have a lot to hide
Taking just the outside
Helps the story flow
CHORUS
========
Getting where im going
Knowing what i know
Solo 1
=====
Take my pen and paper
Pick up my guitar
Feel my soul inside of me
Play another bar
Tell what life has given me
Let the rhythmn flow
CHORUS
========
Getting where im going
Knowing what i know
Solo 2
=====
CHORUS
========
Getting where im going
Knowing what i know
Getting where im going
Knowing what i know
Ad lib outro
