I started out writing this song, because I am at a point in life where I am starting over, in a sense. Over the last year, I have been writing songs for a young artist, and decided to write it for her age group's outlook on life. The thing about this song, is that it doesn't matter whether you are actually young or young at heart... just matters how you see yourself.

Its hard to say goodbye, to the very first chapter of my life. I got years of memories, tucked away inside. Setting out for the great unknown, outside my comfort zone, I'm ready to fly, taking to the skies... and I'm gonna love my life. Its time for me to live, so much I don't wanna miss, gonna color outside the lines, take the risks. Won't hold out or play it safe, can't get anywhere that way. I'll find the brightest star and make it mine, yeah, I'm gonna love my life... I'm young, and free, yeah, free to be, who I wanna be. I'm strong, and I got dreams, life's what I make it, not what it makes of me. I may fall, from time to time, but you know, I'll be alright. After the rain, the sun will shine, and I'm gonna love my life. Like a baby takes a first step and with God holding my hand, I'm ready to go where the road leads, ready to be who I am...
