Story behind the song
I have waited since last year for my new Lowden guitar, ordered from George Lowden's new Irish workshop. It is the first of its kind - the first ziricote/cedar small body S size, and the first cutaway body guitar in the revised S design. This recording is entirely without ANY reverb - just two mics, absolutely plain direct recording, no compression, no EQ, no reverb, no guitar pickup. This is the guitar straight out its case with new strings, hardly played. The tune is a local one, Roxburgh Castle, which I often play at folk sessions. It is my own arrangement in G with drop D bass.
