Lyrics
THE SANDS OF TIME (verse 1) You work hard every day,Your job means a lot to you, While someone is watching, everything you do, Your boss knows every move that you make, As the stress mounts day by day, what will it take, Some day you will wake up, and you'll understand, All this is leading to the day they lay you in the sand, (chorus) The sands of time have me in thier grip, Like a character in a comic strip, I live my life by the artist stroke, While my life turns into one big joke, I work all week just to draw my pay, Knowing full well I will die some day, They will bury me without a dime, When they lay me in the sands of time, Swallowed up by the sands of time, (bridge) In a dream I woke up, lying in the sands, Of a lonely stretch of beach, Searching for something, I stretched out my hands, Sand was all I could reach, I need something to hold onto, Solid ground to plant my feet, I can't take a stand, in this loose, shifting sand, how in the world do I compete, (verse 2) I once knew a man, he had everything, Fame and fortune, everything money can bring, He was a winner, in the financial game, Now-a-days I can't remember his name, I was surprised to hear,He died last year, I wasn't surprised to hear, nobody shed a tear, they buried him without a dime, When they laid him in the sands of time, swallowed up by the sands of time, (repeat bridge & chorus)

A very powerful, dramatic song, love the way it builds to a crescendo. Lovely vocals and wonderful music/arrangement - very atmospheric.
